PREVIOUS WORKS
Prosodie, Opera Multimediale in Tre Movimenti, is my final composition for the final exam to obtain my bachelor degree at the Conservatorio Cherubini in Florence, Italy. This piece is the result of three years of work and It consists of three movements. The first two are presented through footage I created exclusively for the music, and the third one was presented and recorded live from the final exam.
The work is based on the development of my ideas on the possibilities of voice, language, word's meanings and their relationship with features of music, such as rhythm and melody.
The movements are:
1. 09:10am (based on Salvador Allende's last speech to the people of Chile)
2. Porque escribí (based on the homonymous poem recorded by the Chilean poet Enrique Lihn)
3. Opera Aperta (based on excerpts taken from the homonymous book by Umberto Eco). Featuring Cristian Gajardo Allende on Double Bass; Mateo Massi: voice; and Jaime Ramos Perez on laptop (live electronics)
